Anna - Month 2

Month 2

There are a lot more holes and a lot fewer pictures in this month's satus updates. I was tired. And Dave was gone for nearly 10 days right in the middle of it. He went to a wedding and then was gone for work and then went fishing with Zeke and Uncle Nat. We are glad he had fun but we missed him! Sarah Jane was VERY difficult during this month as well so my energy (what little there was) was directed at her. Most of these updates were written with one hand on the blackberry in the middle of the night while feeding Anna. They have been edited heavily for spelling and typos. The big drama this month seems to have been getting Anna to smile.

Day 32 - Sept 19
Anna is nursing on the little train while her sister cries at the station.

Day 33
Anna just gave her momma a big morning smile that did not appear to be soley connected to gas issues.

Day 34

Day 35
Noticed the birds and the mirror in the swing today. She is still sleeping all night in the swing. She seems to go about 2.5 hours in the swing vs. an hour tops in the bassinet.

Day 36
Anna has a slight fever, 100.2 taken under the arm. Her sister was feverish and got a cold from her first week of preschool... (here we come winter!) and now Anna has it too, poor baby.

Day 37
Anna was an angel today while her sister had a 90 minute melt down, sitting quietly in the bassinet and then happily falling asleep.

Day 38
Anna is 21 inches and 10.1lbs!
[Sidenote: We got 25 chickens today. What was I thinking?]

Day 39 - Sept 26
Anna wished her daddy a happy birthday. She gave him new boxers and brown socks. She did not pick them out herself.

Day 40
Anna has not yet started smiling on a regular basis. Her mother would like to see a happy face.

Day 41

Day 42
Anna slept her longest stretch yet going from a feeding at 1130 to 345. Mom was very happy to sleep!

Day 43
Anna is back on her every 2. Those smiles better come soon!

Day 44
Anna's smiles: 1 for Aunt Carrie, 1 for Maribel, none for mom. Hmmm.

Day 45
Dad's swaddle plus the swing = sleep from 730 to 1. Why can't we do that after 1? And why are mom's swaddles so bad?

Day 46 - Sat. Oct 3
Anna spent the might at Grandma and Zeke's with mom and Sarah Jane while daddy was at a wedding in Chicago

Day 47
Anna finally have her mom a big smile! Its good timing because she's getting a bit more fussy too.

Day 48
Anna is hanging out in the city with her mom after a doctors appointment enjoying the fall and pretending to be an only child in the bugaboo

Day 49

Day 50
Annas eyes are blue blue blue

Day 51
Anna is starting to go a bit longer between feedings at night. We may have made it to every 3 to 3 and a half.

Day 52
Anna enjoyed another day in the city with Erin and Brady and her first merry go round ride (in the car seat)

Day 53 - Sat, Oct 10
Anna seems to be developing a pattern. Every 2 in the afternoon, last nurse at 7 then long stretch to about 1 then 4 then 6 for cuddling.

Day 54
Anna has outgrown 1s. Unfortunately we have about a case and a half left. We will give them to the Chuns when their little boy makes his entrance.

Day 55
Anna is now wearing size 3-6month clothes comfortably and has fully outgrown size 1 diapers. Today she pooped through 3 of them. She is officially huge.

Day 56
Anna is my hero. She made it from 8 to 220 and then to 6. I think it took her sister 6 months to do that well.

Day 57
Anna got head-butted by her big sis which was quite distressing for all involved

Day 58
Anna is going backwards. Why am I feeding her at 1130 for the second night in a row?

Day 59
Anna is a dear sweet easy peasy little baby.

Day 60 - Sat. Oct 17
Anna went to the city today and visited the acquarium with her sister and Veronica. On the way home we met Drew Chun. Being born gave him one flat ear just like Anna! We assured his momma that he would grow out of it quickly.

Day 61
Anna is not so good at sleeping in the basinett as she is in her swing. Not sure how we are going to reverse this one. Do know that attempting loose swaddle and basinett in same night was not good strategy.
